• Take the mixture and pour four cups into a plastic 2-liter clean soda bottle. The remaining mix can be poured into a 16-ounce clean spray bottle. Fill up the bottle with two tablespoons liquid dish soap and half a cup of water.
• Now, place the soda bottle filled with the mix on the ground in a place that can be easily accessed by the yellow jackets. This is our trap. Make sure that the spot is not disturbed by any intruders like other animals or people. Also, ensure that the place is at a safe distance away from your home.
• As an alternative, you can tie a string around the neck of the bottle and hang it from a tree branch, railing or fence post using the string. Ensure that the cap of the bottle is removed so that the yellow jackets will get lured by the mix.
• When the mix becomes overcrowded with dead wasps over time or when it starts becoming ineffective, you can empty the contents and replace it with a fresh set.
• If you are out working in the yard, then keep the spray bottle containing the mixture with you. If you notice any yellow jackets flying around, spray them with this liquid. You can also use it to spray on the wasps that enter your home. If you notice any small nests in your roof, deck, shed or anywhere near your home; then also you can use this spray to get rid of them. Keep spraying on the nest and saturate it so that the wasps can’t even move in defense.

Precautionary Measures To Be Taken
The yellow jackets can sting hard even if they feel slightly threatened by others. A slight movement or vibration near their nests can make them aggressive. Hence, proper precautionary measures are essential before you go near a nest to poison it.
